Programme Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (Honours) programme provides comprehensive knowledge of inorganic, organic and physical chemistry. Students gain a strong understanding of atomic structure, chemical bonding, thermodynamics, spectroscopy, reaction mechanisms, analytical chemistry and laboratory techniques through an integrated curriculum combining theory with practical learning.

Through laboratory experiments, scientific investigations, instrumentation, research activities and project-based learning, students develop analytical thinking, experimental skills and problem-solving abilities required for higher education, scientific research, pharmaceuticals, chemical industries, environmental sciences and allied professional fields.

Teaching–Learning Process

The Department of Chemistry follows an experiential and research-oriented teaching methodology through classroom lectures, laboratory practicals, demonstrations, tutorials, seminars and scientific projects. Students develop analytical, experimental and problem-solving skills through chemical analysis, laboratory investigations and research-based learning while adhering to professional ethics and laboratory safety standards.
