The Bachelor of Arts in English (Honours) programme provides a comprehensive understanding of British, American, Indian and World Literature along with literary criticism, linguistics, translation studies and creative writing. The curriculum introduces students to classical and modern literary traditions while developing critical thinking, analytical interpretation, communication skills and an appreciation of diverse literary cultures.
Through classroom learning, literary analysis, seminars, presentations, research-oriented activities and academic writing, students develop proficiency in language, communication, creative expression and scholarly research. The programme prepares graduates for careers in education, publishing, journalism, media, civil services, translation, content development and higher studies in literature and language.

The Department of English follows an interactive and research-oriented teaching methodology through classroom lectures, tutorials, literary discussions, seminars, presentations, textual analysis and academic research. Students develop critical thinking, literary interpretation, communication skills, creative writing and research aptitude through collaborative learning, assignments and scholarly activities while cultivating ethical values, cultural awareness and analytical reasoning.
